Celebrate the 44th annual Tuba Christmas in Rockefeller Center December 17th.
Have you ever heard or seen a tuba band? On December 17, 2017 hundreds of tenor and bass
tuba players from around the country will congregate on The Rink in Rockefeller Center so all
tuba dreams can be fulfilled. Songs and carols will begin at 3:30 p.m. and go on throughout the
evening. Crowd favorites will be played and spectators are encouraged to sing along to the
sound of low brass.
The musicians from around the country will be conducted by Chris Wilhjelm, famous conductor
of the Goldman band. The first tuba Christmas was presented in Rockefeller Center in 1974, the
idea was conceived in honor of Harvey Phillips. This was only one of many Tuba Christmas’
started, this tradition can be found in over 200 cities around the world. For more information
