Sonoma Coast is a thoughtfully and forward thinking architectural home originally built for a prominent local wine family whom, spared no expense to maximize privacy, views and lighting. It also has many outdoor areas to enjoy such as a 36″ gas BBQ grilling station with outdoor bar/island, dining table with overhead party lights, hammock, picnic tables with overhead party lights, conversation seating clusters and quiet spaces for personal meditation. Our kitchen has been extensively set up with professional grade appliances, gadgets and chef essentials from Sur La Table so any home chef can easily and properly plan elaborate menus. We’ve paid special attention to bedding and linens by supplying soft and fluffy high thread counts, choice of soft-medium-firm pillows and all beds are Room and Board’s Hybrid Mattress’ that sleep cool and offer modern technology for breathability and support. All rooms have been carefully and thoughtfully designed for functionality, comfort and of course, style.

Perfect for digital detoxes, romantic getaways, wine tasting excursions, touring or a active outdoor life with hiking or biking. Each vignette inside the home has been thoughtfully and carefully designed to maximize comfort, style and utility while taking advantage of SWEEPING VIEWS from every room.

By reserving through this website you agree to the following Rental Rules and Regulations:

1: Sonoma Coast is a private residence and we ask that you treat our furniture, appliances and décor with the same respect and care you do in your own home and require from guests staying at your home.

2: Sonoma Coast is a smoke free property.

3: Pets are NOT allowed.

4: 10 (Ten) PRE-APPROVED AND AUTHORIZED DAYTIME OR 6 (Six) PRE-APPROVED AND AUTHORIZED OVERNIGHT GUEST MAXIMUM REGARDLESS OF AGE. Due to constraints of the septic system and neighbor/noise issues, people other than those listed in the Vacation Rental Agreement with Approval and Authorization may not be on property or stay overnight in the property. No unauthorized guests without written pre-approval from Property Owner.

5: BLUFF WARNING: Sonoma Coast is situated on an ocean bluff/cliff. Guest agrees to limit individuals on all promontory walkways and decks and to restrict individuals from area of proximity to steep and dangerous including slopes, bluffs cliffs or restricted stair paths leading to bottom of cove and to insure that Guests supervise their guests or Licensees. Oceanfront rentals present danger to guests. Individuals shall not lean or sit on guard rails or hand rails. Guests and their guests assume all risks in the use of walkways, decks and areas in proximity to ocean and bluffs. Geological conditions are constantly changing which could result in sudden structural instability. If any instability is noted, Guest will notify Homeowner immediately and discontinue further use of walkway or unstable areas. NO OCEAN ACCESS, NO FISHING, DIVING OR SWIMMING AT SONOMA COAST. CITATIONS WILL BE GIVEN. There are public diving and fishing access points at Stillwater Cove and Salt Point State Park. Parks with beach access are nearby. Be aware of the tides.

6: Sonoma Coast is privately owned. Guest’s or their guest’s or Licensees personal property, including vehicles are not insured by Homeowner against loss or damage due to fire, theft, vandalism, rain, water, criminal negligent acts of others or any other cause. Homeowner does not insure against personal injury to occupant or guests due to any reason other than the condition of the premises. It is recommended that all Guests or Licensees carry or obtain traveler’s insurance to protect occupant, guests and personal property from any loss of damage. Guest agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Homeowner from all claims, disputes, litigation, judgments, costs and attorney fees resulting from loss, damage or injury to Guest, occupant’s guest, Licensees or their personal property. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

7: No minor children are allowed on the property without adult supervision at ALL times. Children are not allowed on the decks, in the spa, sauna or swimming pool or in the yard without constant adult supervision.

8: Handicapped access is very limited. Sonoma Coast is a 2 story home with stairs leading to front door, with 2 sets of interior stairs in main entryway between 1st and 2nd floors, Garage entry is on 2nd floor, exterior steps throughout the promenade with uneven pathways and steps alongside the exterior house leading to picnic areas and hammock.

9: Keep the property and all furnishings in good order. If you move any furniture, please move it back before leaving.

10: HOUSEKEEPING: The cleaning fee covers the cost to clean and prepare the house for your stay and to launder linens and towels. Please unload dishwasher and put garbage/recycling in the outside cans before departure. The cleaning fee covers specific housekeeping time needed for this house. If Guests request additional cleaning during the stay arrangements can be made.
An inventory of all household items is conducted following each check-out and Guest will be charged for any missing items. Breakages, if reported, will be handled with a lot more forgiveness. Sonoma Coast pays a living wage to all it’s employees.

11: SPA and SAUNA: No children under the age of 18 are permitted in the spa and swimming sauna without adult supervision at all times. When using the spa and sauna remember there is a certain health risk. Use at your own risk. The spa and sauna are on a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule. Do not use soaps or oils in hot tub or sauna. A fee will be charged if the spa or sauna has to be drained and cleaned after your stay. Plastic wine glasses and tumblers are supplied for your safety. Please do not bring glass into the spa or sauna area.

12: The fireplace is wood burning. Wood is provided for your stay. Please do not overload the firebox. Do not leave the fire unattended. Be sure to let the fire burn down before going to bed or leaving the house.

13: The house is on a septic system. In the event of a power outage, DO NOT flush the toilet or use the sinks or shower on the lower level. The septic pump is electric and will not pump up hill without power. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. Do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Please place all vegetable peels in the trash rather than the garbage disposal.

14: Only Verizon cell phone service is available in Timber Cove. Sonoma Coast offers VOIP, Alexa calls and WIFI calls.

15: Situated on the North Pacific Coast, electricity is not as reliable as in cities. There are occasional power outages. In the event of any short term or extended power outage, call the Homeowner or emergency contact numbers provided in the information book. Homeowner is not responsible for power outages, failure of equipment or food items that have perished.

16: WILDLIFE: We do not allow pets of any kind at Sonoma Coast as it is home to many wild birds and animals that may attack or kill your pet. Please do not feed any wild birds or animals or allow them to come into the house. It is common to see deer, fox, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, osprey, ravens and bobcats in the garden. The cove is home to seals, sea lions, whales, dolphins, river otters and too many seabirds to list. Blue and orca whales can be spotted all year round. Sonoma Coast is in a prime spot for the California gray whale migration and yes, they do swim right into our cove just below the house.

17: NO SPECIAL EVENTS, PARTIES OR SHOOTS: unless approved in writing by Property Owner and all requirements are submitted/approved in writing/separate and additional fees will apply. Sonoma Coast is located on a one acre lot in a peaceful and serene area. Please be respectful of neighbors relative to any loud noise and music. Sonoma Coast cannot accommodate group events. Timber Cove has private security staff that patrol all roads and properties.

18: Guests are to securely close and lock all doors and windows upon departure. Turn off coffee maker and appliances. Turn off Thermostats Check for running water and toilets.

19: The Guest’s Security Deposit is fully refundable if the house is left clean and undamaged. Refunds will be made within 14 days after check-out.

20. STORM/ ACTS Of GOD/ IN EVENT OF FORCE MAJEURE POLICY: No refunds can be given for any events including but not limited to: storms, acts of God, bad weather, power outages, streaming video content becomes unavailable, WIFI goes down or neighboring construction noise.

21: Booking Requirements – all Occupants must supply: Color ID/Passport scans (both overnight and visiting/non-overnight guests), must sign Waiver of Liability.

22: Primary Occupant must sign Property Owners Vacation Rental Agreement with Property Disclosures.

23: Maximum 3 cars allowed on property / per rental and must provide plates.

24: Standard Check- In Time @ 4:00PM / Check- Out @ NOON / Early Check-In allowed if available free of charge.

25: Late Check-Outs subject to availability and must be approved in writing by Property Owners and you agree to the following fees: 12:30~5:00P – $450.00

26: A. Stays 7 days or longer require mid stay cleans at the cost of $250.00. If your booking request is longer than 7 days we will need to revise your quote and resend for your review and payment. B. Daily cleans are available and need to be requested in advance so we can coordinate with crew. Daily cleans are $100.00 and will require a revised quote be sent for review/payment. C. Should the property be left in poor/excessively bad/dirty/soiled condition that requires cleaning crew to stay beyond their contracted 4 hour check out clean; an extra cleaning fee will be deducted from your Security Deposit at time of check out; at a rate of $350.00 min with an additional $50.00 each additional or fraction of an hour after 1st 2.5 hours of overtime.

27: Sonoma County Occupancy Tax of 9% is included in rental for all bookings 30 days or less.

WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS: Any exceptions to the above rules and policies must be approved by owner in advance.

During COVID 19 some additional items to note before booking. We do ask for your continued patience and participation during this incredibly difficult time and look forward to providing you a safe and clean space to enjoy while following some new procedures, which we understand can be an inconvenience to you.
*Before entrance to property check-in and check-out*
  1. Only 2 adults and property manager may enter the property to conduct check-in or check-out.
  2. Prior to entrance into the property. All Occupants must submit to NON-TOUCH forehead thermometer reading, wear a face mask covering nose/mouth, and hands must be sterilized with hand sanitizer. Occupants to supply their own sanitizer and masks. The property manager will supply a NON TOUCH thermometer.
  3. Any Occupant who has a temperature of 99* or lower may enter and occupy per the terms of your Vacation Rental Agreement. Any Occupant who shows signs of COVID 19 or has a temperature may not occupy the property or enter the property. No exceptions!
  4. Refusal to comply with thermometer reading, wearing of face masks covering nose/mouth, and sanitizing hands will automatically void entrance to property, and Property Owner may VOID your Vacation Rental Agreement and refuse entry and occupancy of the property.
  5. All Occupants should monitor their health and temperature(s) before coming to Vacation Rental to ensure the safety of others and ensure Occupancy.
*Cleaning Kitchen, Bathrooms and High Touch Surfaces*
All glassware, kitchenware, cookware, silverware, china, and all high touch surfaces such as counters, doorknobs, slider door handles and exterior furnishings will be cleaned with a product containing one of the following ingredients (alcohol, bleach, degreasing soap) depending on the surface.
*Cleaning of Bedding, Pillows & Fabric Couches*
All  Bedding, Pillows & Fabric Couches be sprayed with antibacterial spray a minimum of 24 hours prior to your occupancy.
*Cleaning Crew*
There will be a minimum 24 hour period between all Guest CHECK-OUTS and cleaning services and a minimum 24 hour period between any cleaning service and any new Guest CHECK-INS.
*Guest Stay Requirements*
Due to CV19 we are unable to maintain mid-stage cleans and as a result of new procedures, we are now requiring all Occupants to the following during your stay and at check-out.
  1. Occupant(s) must empty all rubbish into trash receptacle daily to avoid insect infestation. 2 Recyclable waste bins are in pull out drawer. 1 composting bin located on the kitchen counter. Compost items are (coffee grounds, eggshells, any organic meats cooked or uncooked, plant items, and rinds).
  2. Occupant to maintain entire interior and exterior spaces keeping all areas clean. Underneath each bathroom and kitchen sink will be disinfectant spray for porcelain surfaces. The property owner will provide 1 fresh microfiber cloth for each day of your stay to wipe such areas.
  3. Vacuum and Swiffers are located in the garage on the hook. Please feel free to use it.
  4. At the time of check-out Occupants must clean all dishes, glasses, and cookware in the dishwasher using the sanitizing cycle and return all items back to their original places. (except cast iron cookware and steak or cooking knives)
  5. At the time of check-out Occupants must strip beds and pile sheets on top of the bed. Towels (if wet) must be hung up to dry to avoid mildewing.

Why Tim & Reuben Like Sonoma Coast

Impressed with the properties entry, grounds and lot size we were very happy to continue viewing the inside. Immediately after opening the front door both Tim and I had an instant emotional response. The immediate response is this home has drama with it's sweeping water views that are audible from every room, large scale rooms with detail and craftsmanship not often found. This home spoke to us on so many levels within the very first couple of minutes, which is rare for us. Usually, Tim and myself are not so quick to liken a property from the onset unless, it's truly special and of course, sings to us. And, luckily, we were fortunate to have found her.


We immediately deemed the house "Sonoma Coast" for how the house is sited on the property. The architecture resonates Frank Lloyd Wright's visionary ranch in the front and transitions to a modern prairie with subtle international flair on the water side; creating a very forward thinking build on a promontory that seamlessly blends itself into immediate environment, creating a very private and lush estate.

Having some experience in this arena, we both felt within one showing that this home must be ours and so we made our offer and closed 30 days later.

After spending some time in the house and getting a feel for it, we knew we didn't want to change much at all. Instead, we felt a gentle and easy face lift was in order so as to not interfere with it's original integrity and vision. We feel we've created a modernized space with pieces that represent both era and architecture and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
